Dr. Nick McHargue

Dr. Nick McHargue, known as Dr. Nick by his patients, is an experienced dentist. Proud to call himself a native Missourian, Dr. Nick grew up in Trenton. At an early age he began working in all facets of his Dad’s private dental office, from cleaning the office to assisting with patients. He has experienced first-hand the art and science of dentistry. In third grade, he started wearing retainers to correct his buck teeth and an overbite. While in fourth grade he busted out his two front teeth while ice skating at Crown Center for his sister’s birthday. This resulted in root canal therapy, posts, and crowns. Dr. Nick has had two sets of braces spanning from grade school to high school as well as wisdom teeth extractions and a number of fillings. Then at the tender age of 20, he finally learned that brushing and flossing are important to maintain optimal oral health and they’re easy to do, too!

Dr. Nick received his DDS and BS in 1997 upon completing the accelerated 6 year combined Bachelor/DDS program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Nick received the Outstanding Operative Award for his graduating class. After spending a few years practicing dentistry in a group setting, Dr. Nick started his own private practice in 2001.

One of the aspects Dr. Nick loves most about his job is getting to meet all kinds of new people, as well as maintaining long term relationships with them. His goal is to ensure a comfortable, quick, and affordable office visit. Dr. Nick’s aim is to treat each and every patient as he would his own family; stressing quality care delivered with the utmost integrity.

He and his wife have 3 kids, twin boys and a little princess. In his free time, Dr. Nick enjoys spending time with his kids, riding bikes, gardening, boating, fixing broken toys, and perfecting new recipes. He is an avid MIZ-ZOU & Cardinal fan.

Melissa

I started working with Dr. McHargue in March 2018, and I absolutely love my job! What I enjoy most about working at this office; is that every person here has such a passion not only for dentistry, but also to make sure our patients are receiving the best care possible. In 2010 I graduated from Missouri Southern State University, with an associates degree in dental hygiene and a bachelors degree in health science. I enjoy being able to promote systemic health through proper oral care.
I have a daughter; who is almost 5 years old, that keeps me busy and entertained when I am not at work. We enjoy hiking, gardening, swimming, being active, and spending time with friends and family.

Kathy

In 1984 I answered an ad in the local newspaper and started in a dental office. Since then I have been a dental assistant, front desk worker, office manager and practice management consultant. In 2006 I graduated from SFCC with an AAS and achieved my dental hygiene license. I love dentistry, the patients and the dynamics of helping people achieve a great smile and overall oral health. I was instrumental in creating the school varnish and screening program that now serves approximately 8000 children in MO. I have a big heart and enjoy being able to help friends and community. Being an animal lover, I have a cat, dog and fish. Being a people lover, I have a daughter, son and four grandchildren. I look forward to meeting you and helping you overcome any obstacles to great oral health and a great smile.

Alicia

I have been the dental business for over 25 years. I started working with Dr. Nick in 2015, and absolutely love my job!

As a dental assistant, my responsibilities extend far beyond merely assisting the dentist. I pride myself on the ability to make our patients feel comfortable. As a child I loved going to the dentist, so I enjoy individualizing my care to ensure that each patient has the best experience possible. After all, we enjoy the time spent with you, so it’s important to us that you continue to come!

When I’m not chasing chickens or feeding the cows on the farm, my husband Lance and I enjoy spending time with our awesome grandson. I also like fishing, hunting and hanging out with friends.

Chelsea

I have been working in customer service for the past 10 years, and in the dental industry for the past 5, and it truly is my passion! I’ve worked the clinical side of dentistry and the front desk too! My favorite thing about working with Dr. Nick is being able to make a difference with all our patients. Since a positive dental experience starts at the front door; I pride myself on being able to make personal connections with each of our patients, to help them feel more at ease.
When I’m not working my husband and I enjoy traveling, camping, playing with our dogs, renovating our home, and volunteering in our community.

Amanda

I have been in the customer service industry for over 15 years, with the last 3 being in dental. My passion has always been people, it is my goal that you come into the office feeling welcomed and leave feeling like family. My favorite part of working with Dr Nick is getting to see patients leave happier than when they came in (even if its just them laughing at his “singing”). When I am not working, I am soaking up as much time as possible with my “boys” (my husband and 2 sons), gardening, baking, reading, and cheering on the Tigers and Chiefs.

Karen

I have been working in the healthcare industry for the past 11 years and I genuinely love helping people in any capacity! I try to live by the golden rule and believe that one can positively impact others even in the simplest of ways. I enjoy working with our wonderful team and patients and believe that each team member pulls together to create a friendly environment.

My husband and I have 3 young children so “free time” is a fantasy. I enjoy running, reading books, decorating, shopping, volunteering at my children’s school, and spending time with friends and family.
